looking to get a teardrop trailer but my concern is the transmission.does anyone have expierience towing a 1000 lb with the cvt and does it hold up to this?i know manual says 1000 without trailer brakes and 2700 with brakes but 2700 lbs sounds like a lot for a cvt but i am no mechanic.i am even concerner to pull the 1000 as i do not want to chance hurting my outback.any body ???? thanks and glad to be new member.2010 outback bought new with 20000 miles now.

CVT Towing

There have been several threads on this in the past, so check out with a search. Suby desiged the CVT to haul as rated, but we will not know how well it holds out until probably several years from now. With that said, have seen no problems yet listed on this forum. Like many others, I have been hauling up to 2500 lbs w/my 2011 over big passes in CO w/o problems (but do not go fast or push it...). Yes, get trailer brakes over 1K towing as will be safer.....
