Hi all,

On my 2011 outback, if I don't use the clicker to unlock the car, but instead use the key, when I open the door the alarm will go off. I brought this up at a dealership, and they told me that is the way it is designed. Is that true?

My '13 does it, too. Going to look it up in the manual. I guess we're jacked if the fob fails and you want to use the key.

According to what the dealer told me, when you open the door with the key the alarm will sound. You then put the key into the ignition and give it a turn and the alarm will turn off.

In the manual for my '13 it says that's how it's designed to work. It'll turn off after you put the key in the ignition and turn it.
