Out forester is occasionally reluctant to start. Normally it fires right up, but occasionally you need to crank it a few times. Doesn't matter if it's cold or at operating temperature. I've run injector cleaner in a few tanks, cleaned the air filter etc. and digging up a service manual. Is there a fuel filter? Some other sensor that might need cleaning? Thanks in advance!!!

system might have stored codes, or display a 'pending' code after a slow start.

is it more likely to fail after a longer time sitting?

Is there a method for reading the codes on the Subaru without an OBDII reader?

No, doesn't seem to matter... If it sits for a week it fires right up. Drive around, park, some times will crank over for 15 - 20 seconds... Pause... retry... usually fires up the 2nd go...

Thanks I checked out the Subaru site and it stated my VIN wasn't covered by the warranty. Been watching the oil consumption though...H
