i have an '11 outback and my wife has a '12 impreza. the impreza is almost identical to the XV. i don't know how you could stand that much of a downgrade for a few more mpg. keep an eye on the oil consumption of the fb20 for the first 10-15k miles youll probably need to keep adding some every now and then, but after that period it should stop burning oil. the xv/impreza is still a very nice car, you should be happy, i just love the outback's seats in comparison and a lot less wind noise. don't worry about the cruise control, just use it whenever. there isn't really much of a break-in, just don't bounce off the fuel cutoff, oh wait the CVT wont let you.
