I went to my dealer yesterday and mentioned the "short" time notice to take a turn. He told me there was a technical bulletin recently, and called tech support. The dealers are getting a new CF card update, some have them already. My dealer gets it next week, and I made an appointment for the upgrade, as well as to start a ticket on why an iPhone cannot terxt back through the vehicle system, but yet a text can be read out trhough the nav head.

Unfortunately I do not, other than it is to correct the late turn notice. What I like about that is then maybe they can make other corrections as needed. Honestly, just yesterday, I was driving with my navi when it SUDDENLY said right turn. I crossed three lanes of traffic and was lucky no other cars were nearby. Imagine the liability if soimeone had a crash because of that!

Another thing I notice is that the system does not tell you to make a U turn. That sucks! I left a business, took a right before the navi kicked in after exiting the parking lot, and it took me 10 miles down the road then a series of right turns ending in a left, back on the same road but in the opposite direction! Some navi's have an option to allow for U turns. Has anyone figured that out? Try an intentional error from a navi route and you will see what I mean.

Well, it looks as though they are addressing the "short notice" to make a turn with a change to the CF card. BUT, Page 24 in the navigation manual for the 2013 Outback says that certain features cannot be used when the vehicle is in motion "WHEN THE SAFETY IS ON" Do you see any reference to shutting a safety off or on? That would be huge. Did it have a wiring diagram that some of the techies here could use to figure out how to bypass the speed sensor?

I met with the factory rep and showed him why I thought my 2013 navi head was messed up. He agreed and ordered me a replacement. Maybe the replacement will have been upgraded as I purchased my 2013 OB in October. I still need someone to come up with how to over-ride the motion sensor!!
