I think @GBMaryland was being kind to Subaru when writing that the update is a bit problematic. IMHO, Subaru created an unholy mess with the update process. There are many other threads/posts on the process and challenges. It can't even be done in the first release of the '13, unless you update the entire nav unit to be Starlink compatible. For a time Subaru was offering to do that part for only $100, but that deal is long gone. Unless you really need the factory nav, go with a Garmin on the dash or your smartphone.
