I bought a 2005 Honda Accord 2.4L 4 cylinder brand new (still have it). With the stock battery, the engine would crank very slowly during cold months but would always start. Once the original battery went south, I purchased a V6 size battery which had more CCA's. This helped tremendously.

Once my OEM batteries died (in any car) I always replaced them with Optima Red Top after a slight battery holder modification. Never had any problems with those batteries....

+1 on Optima Red Top. When the alternator went on my last car I replaced the OEM battery with Red Top and it worked great, very strong ignition.
