Own a 2016 3.6L Outback. Starting about 6 months ago I will attempt to start the vehicle and it will not start. It acts as if the battery is dead. I have had the battery checked by dealer twice and each time it tests perfect. The occurrences are happening more often. I had the vehicle in for service at the start of November and it has failed to start 5 times. I do not keep the keys in the vehicle. I have bought one of the USB battery starters and they will get the engine to start.

Has anyone else had this problem? If yes any suggestions.

I suspect something is left on that is draining the battery but I cannot see any lights left on and am not sure what else might be the problem. The vehicle has keyless open and the alarm system. I have looked through the manual and cannot find anything to do.

Scan through the numerous battery discussions in this site for more information. Especially check into the software changes that can be made to your Outback to force the alternator to provide more charge for short trips.
