There is an annoying wire near the oil filter. I am always paranoid that I will damage it with the wrench. First of all: what is it? Second, has anyone been able to secure it batter so its not in the way?

Thanks

^ Thanks for making me read that entire thread, only to discover the only info in there is someone referring to it as a "sensor wire". No sh*t, Sherlock - real helpful.

According to this thread, it's likely serving the oil pressure sensor (and there's even some advice on how to check to see if it's been damaged/disconnecetd): http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums...2-outback-3-6-green-wire-near-oil-filter.html
