My 2016 Outback now needs a 6th windshield. I've gotten OEM parts due to the Eyesight system but am wondering if the non-OEM parts are more robust. What's your experience? Please don't bring up the spontaneous glass breaking lawsuit.

For entertainment sake, bought the car new July 2016, 2 days later the rear view mirror fell off and took a piece of the windshield with it. Oct 2019, Jan 2020, Oct 2020, Jan 2021 were the subsequent crack/replacements. Apparently I shouldn't drive in Oct and Jan! :ROFLMAO:

Appreciate hearing your experience or knowledge on OEM vs non-OEM glass for an Eyesight windshield.

Don't know if year to year matters but another member has found Fuyao brand glass to be stronger (on an Outback that uses OEM Carlex windshields). Fuyao is an OEM supplier for Subaru for various glass and on the same car there might be glass from 4 different suppliers.
