Trying to change oil on my new 2017 Outack. I cannot preak the oil drain plug. Am I missing something?? I have never experience a drain plug in this tight.

Normal. Get a bit painted on at factory.

Yes. All of us that do our own oil change have went through it on the first oil change. Just crank on it hard. It will be OK. It's just this once because of the paint.

I did the first oil change on my OB @3 weeks ago. I used a 1/2" ratchet with a 14 mm socket, fit it on the drain plug firmly and smacked the end of the ratchet with the palm of my hand. It broke free after a couple of smacks. I am always nervous about cranking on bolts/nuts in restricted access locations. The 1/2" ratchet is heavier and smacking the end provides impact action to loosen the drain plug.

Separately, I was worried I would get oil splashed everywhere on the splash shield, but it is designed well and oil flows out in a reasonably controlled manner. Just dab clean a few splash drops here and there after the change. Pretty easy oil change on this car.
