I think the colors they used for nighttime navigation on the 2018 8 inch infotaiment systems is insane;
the roads are light grey and the background is a slightly darker light grey.
an almost impossible combination to read.

SOA support says:

"At this time, there is no way to change the colors of the navigation system. I will pass on your feedback to Product Development to consider when developing future models. Past input from our customers has been helpful in initiating changes to our newer models. Your comments are valuable to us in that they provide us with a clear picture of our products as seen by our owners."

I can't see how any human could be happy with the colors they selected. no alternate color screen selection is not cool either.

I am wondering if I am the only one that cares and if anyone else has contacted SOA ?
I think its a real nice navigation system except for the color choices.
this is our 4th vehicle with navigation so we are experienced owners in that respect.
we have iPhone 6 phones and we prefer using the cars system rather than the phones navigation system

Set screen to manual, turn brightness down

A suggestion...

General settings
> Brightness adjustment = MANUAL (turn off day/night switching)
> Brightness = REDUCE TO SUIT

1) In other words, don't use the night mode, turn the brightness down. Bad news... You have to reset brightness for day use.
2] I haven't tried this yet. Will it dim enough?
3) I agree the night mode is too dark but I don't rely on the GPS. I could imagine just setting to DAY mode and adding a tinted plastic film for night use.
4) Complaining to Subaru won't do me any good since a 2018 probably can't be changed... and in 15 years when I buy another vehicle GPS may be obsolete.
