FYI - There is 0% performance improvement with the alloy pedals. Just like racing stripes don't boost horsepower. Apologies if this bursts anyone's bubbles.
Today it's purely an aesthetic thing, but out of curiosity what is the origin of the metal pedal vs rubber? Was it for an ounce of weight saving in a race car, or?
I can't believe it's for anything aside from looking cool on the outback. For racing, it's probably a combination of weight/strength (they also have a textured surface to prevent slipping).
