2005 3.0 Bean

Coasting, no gas, if i let the trans downshift on its own, right at 20 mph it will clunk when it down shifts. If i am in manual and i down shift it before it reaches 20mph, normal downshift with no problem. Any ideas?

Also 4-5 upshift in manual with no load gives a hard up shift. If i am accelerating, up shift is normal.

Hope this is a suspension bushing or something non-transmission rebuild related...

Thanks,
Robert

I'd check for driveline slop somewhere, CV joints and U joints, see if the front or rear diff seem extra 'sloppy'.

My 4EAT had a nasty downshift 4-3 that could be fixed for awhile by wiping the TCU learning, by disconnecting the battery for a bit.
