A financial commitment is required by Subaru for any dealership to order a vehicle. It is perfectly acceptable to secure a payment over the phone upon receiving a written agreement to terms from the customer. At my dealership this payment is refundable should the vehicle not be able to be delivered OR it can be refunded when completing final paperwork prior to taking delivery of said vehicle.
