Looking at buying a 97, but it has no spark, the guy said he replaced the coil, not sure where to start?
I've heard that crank sensors are common, already checked the fuses, and it sounds like it has no compression. it has 188000 on it.
Also read that the ECUs rarely fail, any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Is the Check Engine Light on? If so, get the code.

This generation of Subies has an Ignitor between the ECU and the coil. If it goes bad, and they will, no spark. Something for you to search on and check out.

Other possibilites:

-crank position sensor
-camshaft position sensor
