Just small photo, how my Outback looks.
Sorry, its just from a HandyCam(SonyEricsson P800), my scanner quit working...

Its a german model, with 110.000 km on the clock.
Alcantara/Leather, Automatic, 2 Sunroofs...

Top Speed: 225km/h :D
av. fuel: 11l/100km

It has been from Norway down to Italy.
No major faults, only the head gaskets have been replaced at 60.000km.
Great car, I'm hoping of keeping it some time longer...

more photos will follow...
greetings

Green was the best color back in 1997. There where only 2 others offered.
A steel-blue and a red.

The 1st generation Outback had in Germany only those 3 colors and 2 model trims.

"Base":
AT, AC, dual moonroofs...
cloth seats

"Limited":
everything from Base + Alcantara/Leather, Cruise Control, wood trim...

So there was no real choice back than. I'm really satisfied with my Car :)

I see apple trees in that picture, reminds me of visiting relatives in Lithuania. I did see a few Outbacks in Vilnius, too.

I have my own green wagon for nosing among the trees.

Interesting that the German '97s don't have a hood scoop. They look more like US '95/'96s.

And, although green is my favorite color (hence the band name/user name), everyone who's cool knows that WHITE OUTBACKS RULE.

;)

Haha, OK fine, I'll stop stirring up arguments in all the threads I post in!

So far, the only Legacy that had a hood scoop in Germany was the 1st model Legacy Turbo. Since the european cars are from japan, and not from the US, they have the japanese spec. Meaning hood scoops are for Turbo models only.
Notice the painted front part between the foglamps, the different grill and many other different parts.

Looks like they have headlamp washers and foul-weather rear red fog lights, too

(edited to add) and no amber side reflectors in the front light assemblies - aren't those side reflectors illegal in Germany?

Good eyes Lizard.

I bet you are good at those "Find the Differences" games found on Touchscreen games at bars all over the place. You know, the picture on the left has an extra nipple, no exit sign, and the teddy bear is missing an ear...

The foul-weather red fog lamp is integrated into the rear light assembly. Those little things in the rear bumper reflect only light.

Yes, no amber front indictors. Clear signal lights are standard on most cars sold in germany. SO they are stock.
On the side, these are indicators as well.

I've never known why those amber reflectors at the front corners are illegal in Germany (or all of EU?)

I have actually added a few small squares of red and white reflective tape to a few places on my car - for example, on the rear-facing ends of the roof rack.

There are strict rules about lights at a car in Europe.

White: Frontlights, Foglights and Reverse Gear light...
Red: Rear Lights, Brakes and Rear Fog light
Amber: Signal (even the rear signal is amber when on...)

People might mistake a amber reflector as a signal for turning...

No other light is allowed on the street. Those underlights (Fast&furious style) or blue LEDs are heavily forbidden, because they can distrct other drivers.
