Hi Folks, I hope it's ok to post this here. I'm in some FB groups where I've noticed more "mature" Subaru owners that feel a little out of place with the kids all talking about their mods and stuff. There's a new group now for those folks :D

We're just gettin' started. Come on by and help us get off to a strong start!

Now that I'm a new member, it will be interesting to see if I will stay. Already I'm seeing some photos of pets and grandchildren "sneaked in". Also waiting to see a reaction to a post I made. More to follow.

Glad you joined in Joe! It's not a mechanical only type of group. It's for people who want to share their experiences with the mature Subaru lifestyle. No childish bashing, criticizing, judging. As you can imagine, some mature folks have experiences with their grandkids or pets in their Subarus that they'd like to share with the group. No sneaking is necessary, posts like that are welcomed.

I, personally would love to see a picture of your personal Outback in it's natural habitat, instead of a stock photo. Regardless, I hope the tone of the group agrees with you, and you decide to stick around!

BTW, if someone named "Doug U" attempted to join the group from here (I had a bunch of folks from here join, stemming from Joe's commenting on this post, so thank you Joe! <3 Outbacks are under-represented in the group, and I'm hoping to get more! We've got mostly Crosstreks and Foresters.)... anyway, Doug U, if you're here, please respond to the private message I sent you through Facebook. I'm happy to add people that want their privacy, but I'm reluctant to add folks whom I can't verify are legit.

When I read it was for mature Subaru owners I assumed it was a porno site catering to those living alternate life styles................not that there is anything wrong with that >:)

I did fill out the registration for the group and we'll see if the mods approve me.

You all sound very open-minded in this mature, adult group.

This mature group may give "group Lezbaru" a whole new meaning. Or is this the kind of thing you are looking to avoid? I'm a kid at heart I guess.

Evidently, the Subaru ownership badge is a "new" thing for the mature audience. They are getting all excited over on the FB site about them. I must admit though, mine are in the mail.

How old is not a kid? Does 1/2 a decade count? I have always felt I am too old for FB in general. Is it a number? A state of mind? If you have 1 & 1 3/4 ridiculous cars are you refused entry past the gate?

According to this survey, I am older than dirt.

It is more a state of mind. We've got a few 20-somethings that know how to conduct themselves, but most of us are over 40.

Maybe I'll try to re-activate my FB account. The 1st time around it turned out to be huge PITA and I had to submit a picture so they knew it was me. WTF? is that about. How do they (Zucker-corn) know, I am me, from a picture I submit? Email/Server identification and tracking? And why does it take me 3 days and 3 layers when "Pee_Funk" (23 year old punk) signs up with no issue.

FB makes me feel old and un-able. And that was just the sign up process. Re-Activation...D*mn. I am really feeling 50 - hard.

??? You must be Doug then... That would explain the private profile

Sorry, not Doug U. I don't do private profiles or join closed FB groups.

So far, I've been a happy member, with warm welcomes and interesting topics. I probably over-reacted to the "pet picture" thing...it's just that on other Facebook groups, there are some that post things that should just be on their personal Facebook site. Grandchildren-wise, I have 8, and love them dearly, but I don't need to show them here (not even reading Subaru manuals).
