So I was trying to connect a gauge to test my AC. I successfully connected to the low pressure port, but when I connected to the high pressure port it started shooting out and created a cloud of mist. What would cause this issue, and what can I do to fix it?

Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like you may not have the plunger in your manifold gauge retracted and/or you tried to hook up with the compressor on. Make sure you connect the high side after the engine has been off and the pressure has equalized. Also make sure to turn the valve all the way back out until after you have securely attached the gauge.

If you got the gauge attached but it leaked while attached there is a bad seal in the end of the gauge hose. If it continued to leak from the high test port after disconnected then the check valve/schrader valve is bad or not seated correctly.

All this is assuming you have the correct fittings on your gauge hoses.
