Have a 1995 & noticed water on the floor of the front passenger area. Then realized it was happening when the AC was running. It is coming from behind the dash & dripping down on the floor. It isn't gushing out or anything like that but enough that it can be noticed. Any ideas or a quick fix that won't cost any money?

Does it happen while it's raining or after a period of rain? cause there's a common issue with these cars with the trim along the bottom of the windshield there's plastic clips that pop in to hold it and there's one with a grommet right above an opening into your dash (furthest left) that leaks into your HVAC fan box.. massive design flaw and it's happened to a ton of people.

Classic blocked evaporator drain pipe.

Look under the car, just inboard of the right front wheel. You can see where the front passenger floor board slopes upward. There should be a small, rubber hose hanging down. That's the drain.

When the AC is running, moisture in the air condenses on the cold evaporator (like dew on the ground in the morning), collects at the bottom of the duct, and is supposed to run out through a drain opening into the hose. When the hose is blocked, the water accumulates in the duct and leaks out from the various openings, wetting the carpeting and floor, especially on the front passenger side.

There are lots of posts/threads here about the same problem; for example: http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums...g-passenger-footwell-accesing-evaporator.html
