Thanks! Right now there is more salt mix on the roads than snow
...With a chance of turning into Unimog weather, ski-doo weather or I'll-just-be-here-in-my-igloo weather.I'm sure they'll be fine.
This is Subie weather after all.
My libertarian views don't like that ban one bit. At the most, it should have been limited to the areas that will get 3 feet of snow and horrible winds (or a 4WD/AWD only/snow tires required sort of thing like they do in the big mountains out West)...and even then, it seems awfully "1984ish" to me. On this side of the state, it's really not supposed to be a whole lot worse than any other good sized storm. I drove home from work at 4:30 and there were still plenty of people out.At 4pm they imposed a $500.00 fine or a year in jail for driving on the roads. Few exceptions like safety, medical and road maintenance.
Last time this level was signed was the blizzard of 78 when as much as 45" fell over a few days.
I recall a rescue back then on snowmobiles as wheeled vehicles did not work. We walked for several weeks until bulldozers opened the roads. Yup,and it was all uphill! Lol
not sure about state, but my town does a pretty good job with plowing. saw 5 plows roll through the past 2 hours. Town next to mine blows when it comes to plowing. so i guess it depends.Does the state have enough resources to get to residential streets as well as thoroughfares?
