Even OB owners and other Subie enthusiasts, we in the South are thinking about you. Prayers from Alabama for residents of the Norttheast. God bless.

Supposed to give you folks 3"-4"/hr. all night. May not even recognize your own car in the morning if you park outside! And jp1203, libertarian or whatever, unless you have a 'dozer blade on your OB you might as well stay home. Admittedly, I do not live where large amounts of snow occur, but I believe common sense to be a universal concept. Just hope that you guys keep your electricity!
It's really not that bad here. Two feet tops by the time it's over and the plows have been going by constantly. I don't think I'd have any problem :).
That's good to know, I don't doubt anyone's driving ability, but insurance companies are notorious for rejecting claims that occurred on gov't closed roads. Be careful out there!!

Unfortunately not everyone has as much sense or as good of a snow capable vehicle as you.

I think the alerts are out there to keep people off the roads so the plows can run constantly and so they can keep their resources focused on plowing and snow removal, instead of idiot towing and dumba$$ removal.

Just like all government imposed restrictions, they are in place because most people don't have enough sense to err with caution. My libertarian side is ok with TEMPORARY weather imposed restrictions. Let's leave the other govt placed restrictions for another thread in another forum ;)

oh and :ttiwwp:

2-3"/hr , 2+ feet?!?!? Let's see it!
This was a DUD for us near Albany, 6-6.5" not even worth going out for some "fun".

Going out to snowblow now, so I'll take a few. I'm not sure how much we really got. Looks like maybe about a foot by looking out the window.
Not much accumulation here, mostly drifting from the high winds.
Coming down pretty hard but it just blows away.
They are making this storm out like its a snowpocalypse or something.

Hopefully it will amount to more by the time its done.
I'm seeing and hearing reports of how most things went better than expected; i.e. minimal power outages, road clearing, and emergency personnel promptly responding. One negative note, only 2 people died directly related to the storm. "Only" being a relative term. "None" would obviously been better. The disturbing part for me is that both deaths are due to being struck by passing cars.
Guess I'm just getting old.
Looks like we only got around 14". I'm sure they got much more out east. Just a couple cell phone pictures since it was cold and I didn't want to be out much longer than I had to:

Anyone notice the logo on the engine? Yup, you see it correctly--it's a Subaru engine. Cutting through the snow bank the plow left at the end of the driveway:

Mom's 2001 OB Limited Sedan--shows the depth pretty well.

Wow we missed it all, there's barely enough to even start the snowblower here.
Only reason to get it going is to take down a couple drifts.
Drove from up near Albany down to central NJ yesterday evening on 87/287. NY roads were pretty messy, saw a few cars that had spun out and one SUV that end up in a tree off to the side of the road. The Outback handled it well :29:
Thank goodness for Powda! The sun just came out. Got around 25". I did a 7 mile loop in the truck and some roads just getting plowed. Looks like they gave up on one as they just brought in a pay loader.
Tried to post a pic or two but, I'm not smart phone compatable!
Be safe
