I have yet to see another Oklahoman on here. Then again the average Outback driver around here seems to be about 60+ so probably not too many of them on forums. Just curious if there's anyone in the Tulsa area, to see where they get their car worked on, etc.

Norman? You going to OU? I'm an OSU grad, so I tend to have a dislike for Norman as well :) Oh well, old biases. Welcome

Bheinz, I've thought for a while you were about the closest member on here to me. It's sad how few Subaru's there are out here in the plains. I went home to SC for a week over Christmas (first time since I got the Subaru), and was amazed at the number of them there. I think it's definitely more of a import favoring in Charleston, cause the weather there is about 1% as extreme as here in Tulsa.

'97...

Many, many Subies here locally in the Omaha metro. Impreza's galore, mainly turbo's.

Have a good one.

I've never actually been to Nebraska. My reference for "the plains" was mostly only OK, Texas, and Kansas.

You guys do get alot colder winters (the obvious key determinant in the plentifulness of Subarus) than we usually do in here in NE OK.

Is that some good Oklahoman red dirt on your Outback in your avatar shot?

Another Tulsa area owner here. My car looks just like your avatar pic 97riored. I see you have crossbars also. Are you a kayaker? I would not have been able to get up the ice to the main road this week without the AWD. I am impressed.

It's about time we got someone else from around here. :) I'm not a kayaker, I use the bars for a cargo box.

This was my first big winter storm with the Outback (it was in the shop for the November snow), and I was very impressed. My neighborhood (real close to Chandler Park), is very hilly, and I didn't have any problems at all getting to TU all week. I saw dozens of cars stuck all over here though.

Another Okie here! Just picked up a 2003 Outback in Kansas City a few weeks ago. It's the wifes "new" car. Got rid of a 97 Grand Cherokee which she did not care for. We had been looking for a while, but as noted, you don't see them and can't find any used in OK. Visited my Dad in KC for the weekend and this one popped up on autotrader while we were there, it's got 88k, but in excelleent condition, so we jumped on it and traded the GC. Anyone recommend a subaru shop, want to get a pre-inspection, even though we already bought it! Thanks!

Congratulations, and welcome.

The dealer in Tulsa (well, BA, Ferguson Imports), is great, in my opinion. The service manager is a great guy, and they stand by their work.

In terms of independent shops, I use a place called Surfside Japanese on 15th, off of Yale. They do fantastic work, and they have Subaru specialists (they did my headgaskets, valves, main seals, etc), sometimes it takes them a while to get to your car, but really A+ results.

Hey folks!
I am a young Brother (45!) in NE Oklahoma. Hard to find Subarus that have survived the beatings our folks put them through!
Take care and God Bless!

Hi all - just bought our first OB, 2011 2.5i, and we'll be needing to find a good dealer for maintenance in the Bentonville, AR area. Any notes on who's been good (and who's been bad) are appreciated, thanks!
