I had to crack the manual transmission case on a 2002 4 cyl, outback manual transmission. I have it back together but have one extra pin. It's been some time since I disassembled and can't remember where it came from.

It's a rolled spring pin with an interior pin. Anyone know what it is and where it goes?

good job splitting the case!

someone on the ultimate subaru message board would definitely know if they see your thread.

opposedforces would have exploded view diagrams of your transmission if you want to plug around there.

by the look/color of it it appears like an internal spring pin. the shifter mechanisms have spring pins but this has a clean/colored look of something submerged in fluid inside the case.

Looks like the pin that goes in the shifter rod where it attaches to the linkage

I split a 2001 transmission to replace the front seal which is conveniently located INSIDE the transmission ;)
