Hit a curb in the snow in my 05 OB. . . now the lower control arm is now bent. My question: how hard of a fix is this? Any DIY walkthroughs exist for this? Or is this something best left for the professionals?

I feel like I just read a similar thread about a bent LCA somewhere, hmm.

There we go: http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums...52201-could-end-broken-lower-control-arm.html

I think it's a DIY project as long as you didn't do any real front end damage. Hardest part may be getting the 3(?) big bolts out that hold the LCA in position. Depending on damage the strut can be re-used.

I replaced a lower control arm on an older nissan, and it was pretty easy to do. Same steps you would take to replace an axle.
