I had a pair of Yakima ForkLift racks on my '08 OBXT, and they fit fine on the factory crossbars. I moved the front crossbar so that it fastened inside the slot in the front rail mount, and there was no problem with clearance for the lift gate. The bike do tilt out a little (maybe 5˚) but this causes no problems. There is some flex in the factory crossbar where the aero portion joins the clamp, but I've never been concerned with using it with the two bikes up there.

Since then, I've added the heavy duty cargo basket with 18" extension, and now have the ForkLift racks mounted on the crossbar of the basket. I just carry around a milk crate to stand on to reach. (I'm 5'8")

Here's the current iteration:

Hope that helps,
Steve

I just installed 2 Yakima Fork Lift roof racks. They are designed for factory crossbars and fit very well. Ir you have a wagon you need to move the front bar as far to the front as possible to give the hatchback enough clearance.

I have a Rocky Mount Noose that was I was going to use on the OEM crossbars on my old 2005 Outback XT but I eventually got Thule crossbars. If anybody wants to buy a RM Noose in hardly used shape, let me know. All offers considered! I prefer the Thule fork mount bike trays myself so have no need for the RMs..
