For some reason, when my iPhone 4S is connected via bluetooth, the ringer comes through the stereo but the text alerts do not. In fact, the text alerts don't even come through the phone anymore. Is this some "safety factor" or is there a setting I am missing. I am at the point that I just don't use the bluetooth so I don't miss the alerts.

Of course, this is an issue when I am the passenger in the vehicle.

The iPhone does not support that feature.

I notice the exact same thing with my Galaxy Nexus. However, when I'm using the Bluetooth Audio (BT-A) to stream Pandora, Navigation or MLB AtBat (and I'm sure other things) then all alerts are audible through the stereo.
