Greetings

I'm new to the forum having just purchased a 2004 wagon. Hoping to maintain some of the paint integrity here in Colorado I would like to get a front end bra for it. I'm having trouble finding anyone who offers one for the current model year. Is the body not identical to the 2003 model? Any body know?

First of all, congrats on the new Outback! That and welcome to the site! :D

A 2004 Outback car bra is the same as that of the 2003. You can order one from your Subaru dealer or off the internet. Make sure that it says that it fits a 2003 (if it doesn't say 2004). There was a minor front bumper change for the 2003's that carried over to the 2004's.

Out of curiosity, what model did you get? What color, options, etc did you get?

Mystic blue with a dog guard. This car seems well equipped from the dealer and the grey interior is a plus with a dog. I was interested in the 6 cylinder but it seemed a bit pricey. Whiplash will never be an issue but I took it on a trip to the mountains this past weekend and it seemed fine,

I am also looking into a bra for my new outback. Has anyone had any experience with the subaru bra or an aftermarket one. I can't decide which one to get.

Get the subaru one, it's not that much more from a good on line place and it fits properly w/ less flapping.

You may want to consider the hood deflector. The subaru one is really nice and has the appearence of a bra. I think is is a little better on the paint as it doesn't rest directly against the hood. I have one and like it alot. I'm gonna try to get some pics of my car in the gallery soon and that may help you a bit.

I agree that's the best way to go I have install directions and pics here:

A few pics:

More pics at the link.

This is nice too, a clear bra, info here:

Can't even see it on my F-XT but it's keeping chips off of my hood so far even after all the rocks and stuff on the road from winter:

My Forester and OB have fog lamp protectors too:

My Forester has them on the headlamps also:

As you can see from the pic they really can't be seen but work well.
