Welcome and enjoy. Responsibly. Yeah, right. So, I am picking up the new outback in Chicago next weekend. I then need to drive down to St. Louis the following weekend. Do the newer cars still need a break in period? What speeds should you keep the car under for how many miles?
I would hate to have to drive the 1998 Ford Escort wagon (grocery getter) to St Louis with the brand new outback sitting in the garage.

I would hate to drive a 98 Escort period. I remember when Ford first introduced the car. It had the globe emblem on it. Small and boxey. Sounded like a lawn mower. My dad worked for a Ford dealership and drove one for a week to feel it out. Picture a 245 lb Scott getting in a small box and driving down the road. I made fun of it for about 5 minutes. He didn't think it was funny.
