The main pulley on my 2.5 broke. The ring where the belts attach is free from the main past of the pulley. I cannot seem to locate this part at the stores any suggestions?

I don't believe there are any variations in the crank pulleys for subarus from the 90's on up thru 2000's. You may want to check online... I've got a couple laying around. $25 picked up? One has about 50k on it, the other 10k.

Get one used from a junkyard. This does happen from time to time, but not enough to justify buying it new.

Next problem is getting the pulley off, I thought I would be able to rig up something to hold the pulley while I tried to loosen the bolt, but that was unsuccessful.

I don't have the equipment to make a tool, any suggestion? I found what someone else did to make a tool to hold the pulley, and am thinking about stopping by the welding shop on my way to work tomorrow to have one made, but any other options would be appreciated.

Thanks
