I like how deep the cup holder is but they just way to big, a monster can or a thin hot starbucks cup or any thin cup will not be firmly secured because the cup holder slot just too big with no plastic pieces that will hold the drink in place like other cars have. What solution do you have?

I have the same issue. I’m interested in what solutions others have come up with. It seems there are solutions out there for cup holders that are too small, but not for when they are too big.

Can coozies are everywhere. I keep one in the car but seldom use it. Floppy doesn't bother me. But I do keep the lid closed on hot coffee.

Keep an empty travel mug(s) in the vehicle for transfer of the hot drinks and use the cozies when they will work. I think that some travel mugs are much safer to use than paper cups for the hot beverages.

There were 3d printed inserts someone made for the 5th gen that I had. So far none for the 6th.

I have not used these but looks like they provide the extra grip on side so that cups/bottles are more stable - https://www.amazon.com/JOYTUTUS-Upgraded-Expander-Holders-Bottles/dp/B08K6YJHT2/

Someone commented on a solution for larger bottles/mugs in the accessories thread. Interesting that a vehicle geared to 'outdoors' types can't fit a 32 oz Nalgene bottle in any of the holders! Oh, and the Subaru-branded aluminum bottle I received as a 'gift' for purchasing my OB won't fit either!

Honestly, this is probably my biggest "WTF were you thinking, Subaru" complaint about this car. Maybe second to "you say skid plate, but that thin-ass piece of tin doesn't even cover the oil pan" on the Wilderness. LOL

This REALLY irritates me. I try to keep it clean, but a red bull that just had 1 sip out of it is GOING to spill on the next turn. Rediculous for a car at this price. I have a Grand Cherokee that has the tabs where you can place any size cup in and will keep stable. Can't be that much more expensive to put in this car. UGH

So, The one I printed I added to it. The original file was shorter. I added about 30mm to the top so it would hold the tray my wife got me.
This is in my 23 Onyx, but I also made one for her 22 Limited. It should fit 20-23 View attachment 561934

I am curious,
What model of 3D printer did you use to make this?
Is it a steep learning curve?

Well, I use a Creality CR-10. I've had it about 2 weeks. I also have an Elegoo Saturn S that use had for a year. The new one is FDM, other one is SLA.
FDM uses filament that is melted, the SLA uses resin harder by UV.
In my spare time I taught myself to use Fusion 360, so I design stuff and sell it online through a friend in Texas.
My full time job is a Field Service Technician setting up Ultra High Pressure water jet cutting systems. So, I have a bit of background in CNC machines.
For me, it is a fun hobby. If you like to tinker, are good with troubleshooting and can get around a computer, it is easy and fun.
You can get files pre done on the web if you don't want to learn to make your own
