In daylight driving (especially in midday), I'm tired of the reflection that I get from the silver trim on my dashboard reflecting onto the side windows which affects the view in the outside rearview mirrors. I am currently running an experiment by taping some flat black construction paper on the silver trim. It helps some and am considering painting the trim matte black. I will consider other options if someone has a more effective solution.

Try polarized sunglasses? For a cleaner look, use flat black vinyl instead.

you might be able to do this: Buy a black silicone table place mat. Cut that up into the shapes that you want and put it on the dashboard.
