I was able to do this on my last car(VW via VAGCOM) ,
Can TMPS be turned off ?
Do I need a special tool ? or can I just buy a ODBII scanner
tool off amazon ?

TPMS is required by federal law. I would reckon Subaru programmers engineered anti-hacking software into the tpms system.
All car mfg's get real upset when you try to mess with safety systems.
Dissable the dash light and remove the sensors from the wheels.
Black electrical tape over the light might be the easiest way. I haven't found a way to disable it.
Theres gotta be a better way

No one out there disabled TMPS ? there should be an ON/OFF
somewhere ...

Why? TPMS just sits there until there's an issue.

I'm sure there's a fuse for the system that could be pulled to disable.
I doubt that there is a fuse just for the TPMS. I would guess that it is incorporated into one of the many ECU's in the car. Like reddoak stated, sometimes the easiest fix is the cheapest, a piece of tape over the idiot light.

I guess if I want different rims I either have to get a
full set of everything with TMPS included from tirerack ,
or just the rims n have the tires/tmps moved over ... :28:

If only its easy like vagcom.
Is there special software / cables for Subarus ?

FYI there are spambots on this board, they seem to re-post the second complete sentence of a previous comment. Not sure how that helps anyone spamwise...

Just report it. The mods do a good job of editing them out.
Spambot be gone!

I think it's the X X X X underneath (in the sig file area) that is supposed to be a clickable ad, is what they are trying to do here.
