I feel your pain, but then again, all we've ever owned have been Subies with the 2.5 four. It stands to reason that engine is no replacement for the 3.6, but it is a solid powerplant.

I’ve never driven the new turbo 4 so I have no comment on that. However, I am grateful that I picked the 3.6 over the 4 cylinder 3 years ago. 75k miles on it and still smooth and strong.

I agree the ez36 is one of the best Subie engines. I would love to see one of them dropped into a track car with a proper exhaust and tune.

As much as I appreciate my OB being quiet for the daily drive, I always think about how sad it is that an engine that could sound so good never gets the chance

we have this thread already, many of them. subaru H6 are all great.

I wish I worked at subaru to put them back into production.
