I just bought a 2012 basic Outback. When the car has been sitting for a while, and I get in to drive it, I drift backwards out of my parking space, stop, put it into drive and get a grinding noise when pulling out. Sounds like its coming from the axles. It doesnt happen all the time. Has anyone come across this issue. My car is in the shop and I have a loner Outback now and it doesn't do it. I get a little kick when I need to get on the gas also. Any help is appreciated.

It doesnt do it all the time. It's like the trans is not syncronized with the drive wheels, then all is well. Also when I give it power from a slow roll, I get a kick instead of a smooth takeoff. Been to the dealer 2 times already. They can't get it to happeen again.
