I have a 2003 LL Bean which idles low ( 400 ) BUT when radiator fan " kicks on" it goes to @ 700 which I believe is normal.

This usually happens at a red light... and when fan goes on it idles a little rough....like its starving for air or the mixture is off..confused motor.

Any thoughts ?

appreciate your help.

The increase sounds like the normal response to additional electrical load. Engine rpm increases so the alternator can supply the additional demand.

No ideas/comments on the "low" idle situation.

BTW, waiting only 2-3 hours before "bumping" is a little unrealistic and un-necessary. Give it a while for the regulars to get on line and find your request.
