Hello, I have a 1998 Legacy Outback Wagon with the 2.5 engine. 247k miles with less than 7k on a complete engine overhaul. My question is this: At 60mph my tach shows 2500rpm. Is this normal, or is it higher than it should be? The reason I ask is because I also have a 2011 Legacy with the CVT tranny and at 60mph it only reads 1700rpm. I would appreciate any feedback on this question. Thank you in advance:)

That is a bit high. Should be about 2000 at that speed.

Automatic transmission? Sound about right but I have an H6. Flat ground or on a grade?
