I want to switch my 02 manual engine/transmission into an 01 automatic. Is this possible and what all is involved?

May be I am misunderstanding.

You want to convert an automatic to a standard? Or you want to make a standard into an automatic?

Either way, its a chore. Computer has to be added and wired in to go to auto along with a reflash of the ECM or swap for an auto ECM. Computer delete to go to standard removing the TCM and jumping a few terminals on the ECM or again swapping in a standard ECM. Then you have the pedals, hydraulics, sensors have to be swapped on the engine and emission control systems.

People have done auto to standard. There are a few threads here. Google it.

Standard to Auto, that's where I thought you were going, would be easier to just buy an automatic car.

no i am taking my manual transmission and engine and putting into a car that used to run automatic.

You have work to do to get around the starting procedures that each type of unit is looking for.
A search here, and on legacygt.com will show what others have had to do.
