I just picked up my first Subaru earlier this week. 2005 Outback 2.5XT Limited AT. Black with black leather. 116,000 miles. Very clean, in my opinion, for age and miles. I saw some that were really trashed while shopping. I'm hoping the AWD will help me out if/when we get some nasty weather here Central Illinois. I look forward to using this forum to learn about my car. Anything I should be looking for or concerned about considering the age/mileage of my Outback?

This one has our collective wealth of knowledge on improving the suspension. This one overlaps it a bit, with more details on why many 05-09 owners want to make changes.
Also, you'd do well to read Michael Aos' thread on his recently purchased '05 XT. It's a recent thread concerning the same model car you just bought, so it should give you a decent sense of things.
And just to mention it, every XT owner I've heard from has adopted a maintenance specification of using synthetic oil at 3,750 mile intervals. I understand that this is a departure from the originally published maintenance spec, but I firmly believe in the reasoning and follow it myself on my car.
