First I will say this has been the best car I have ever owned. It has cost VERY little to maintain but at 280,000 my 2002 Outback is leaking oil from both head gaskets and timing cover. The water pump is also leaking. At $2000.00 (probably what the car is worth with good head gaskets). I am not sure if it is worth fixing or if I should just maintain fluids and drive it until it dies. It doesn't need anything else that they noticed.
thanks.

It's a tough call. With that mileage, assuming the car body is still in good shape, it would probably make more sense to swap in a rebuilt motor (although I'm not sure what the cost would be). I could envision finding more that needs work as the original engine is torn down, increasing the $2,000 estimate. It might be worth seeing if you can find a low mileage engine an auto recycler.
