Hey I want to make my 03 Subaru outback a sleeper. I want to throw a ford 302 engine block in it.

ATK High Performance Ford 331 Stroker Short Blocks SP13
Trick Flow® Twisted Wedge® Track Heat® 170 Cylinder Heads for Small Block Ford TFS-51410010-M61
86-95 MUSTANG 5.0 PERFORMER RPM II INTAKE MANIFOLD TITANIUM
DeatschWerks Fuel Injectors 18U0000428
BBK Power-Plus Series Throttle Bodies 1703
PRO-M Mass Air Meter Black 75MM Standard Calibration For 42LB Injectors 5.0L 1989-1993
MSD Ignition 6425 - MSD Digital 6AL Ignition Controllers

I was looking about going this route and adding a pro-charger to it as well. Will this engine be able to fit?

So the 5L should be fine? I was going to take it to rear wheel drive as well. How much would have to change in terms of motor mounts or firewall?

the easiest way to do strange power plant swaps is to take a existing wrecked car that still runs and park it side by side with the subaru, and start transfering parts until it runs like the original car. (in your case probably a wrecked mustang that could take a engine like yours )

this makes it so you are not getting nickeled and dimed at the parts store, pick and pull, junk yard, internet, or jegs....or playing switcheroo. (and trying to return stuff that did not work).

probably some nice swap videos out there on putting V8s in subarus though. (not so much on this board though).

just search up "V8 subaru" and see if there is any long build discussion. ...impreza sometimes get their rads shoved forward to make room but legacy outbacks have plenty.

5.0 liter gas should be easier the 6.0 gas.

here is a 6.0 in a 2000-2004 body like yours (happens to be a cheapo legacy cloth, just first link I came on,...out of 15 million hits on google).

I'm worried on what it would take for new engine mounts and if it would be necessary to replace firewall and the transmission column

Wow, that sounds like a lot of torque, all going to one axle. I expect you will have to be somewhat gentle with it. Or, get a bulk buy on some rear axle parts.
