2016 Subaru Outback-I've never had a problem with a fuel door. Pin is retracting just fine, but door doesn't want to open (maybe not enough spring tension?) Any good fixes? Can Subaru fix it (i.e. warranty the door/spring)? It looks like this is a pretty simple assm, can it be popped out and lubed? Potentialy stretch/bend the spring to increase opening force? Thanks!

Once you get it open using a credit card or some other pry tool, a little WD40 or some other lubricant sprayed in the hinge area every several months will prevent this issue in the future.

A little white lithium grease on the retracting pin is also some good PM.

Of course some made it a first world issue on the '15 and Subaru did come out with a replacement assembly...........PM is still needed occasionally.
