Ok. so I have seen this around the forum alot and this may be a dumb question but, the FWD fuse that is on the passenger side of the car by the strut head, if there is a fuse in that then the vehicle is in FWD? or is that just a holder and the FWD fuse is in the fusebox?

it is meant to be empty. installing a fuse forces it into FWD mode. does that answer your question/make sense?
