The PO told me he put in Outback XT springs/struts in the front of my 06 Outback 2.5i.

What's the advantage of these?

I have 04 KYB's in the rear and am pretty happy with them, although my car has a little side-to-side play when going over bumps. I also purchased the King Springs rear overload springs from another member here - I do carry a bit of weight with a trailer, etc.

I'm considering swapping the fronts out to 04 KYB's (or 05 KYB's) and H6 springs. But want to understand what the Outback XT springs/struts are like.

So, looks like the strut is the same, so it'd probably be worth swapping for 04MY KYB Excel-G dampers.

And it's a different rate spring? The diagram doesn't really list the spring rates... How would it compare to the H6 or stock H4 springs?

I doubt he swapped out the end links - just the strut/spring combos.
