I did a search but couldn't find any threads - has anyone removed the steering rack on a 3.6R Gen 4 yet (right hand drive, if that makes any difference)?

Mine suffers from clunks coming lock to lock, and if you saw it at standstill - the noise appears to come from within the rack, rather than the joints / track rods etc. It also intermittently suffers from notchiness at highway speeds.

I had a quick look and couldn't see how it comes out - possibly you can unbolt it and slide it out sideways, or does it have to come out of the bottom (and if so, do you also have to drop the exhaust / manifolds etc and all the chaos that will cause?)
