Is there no way to get more power out of my 14 2.5 ob? Seems like I'm doomed to be the slowest car on the road for the foreseeable future. Anyone with any ideas?

trade it for a 2011-14 3.6. with the last of the great 5EAT.

and be free of the problem child 2014 2.5, with its extended warranty oil burner engine / crappy CVT trans.
I had a 05 Forester xt previously, if I could find that car in good condition I would swap it in a heartbeat

There is little substitute for boost. Some say there is no replacement for displacement. I have driven 3.0 and 3.6Rs.

Still waffling on the SC choice. Raptor vs ProCharger ProCharger would need a CKE SSP custom mounting bracket.

There seems to be zero good consensus on the Inter-Cooler set up for these cars. Every build has been done differently. Cooling is a huge issue. Both oil/transmission temps ans well as intank temps.

Even the orginal "SuperCharged" was battling intake temps. But that was in Texas heat. (same tuner, oddly)

I'm ready to wrench when we figure a plan.
I can't vouch for any other Subaru models or years, but my '11 is acceptable to me. I've learned to spool it up for passing and when I need to sit back and enjoy the ride when I can't pass. The car has been rock solid and dependable for over 92K miles and neither my wife nor I have any inkling to replace it nor any thoughts of "More Power Scotty". I can do 85 with everyone else when the opportunity avails itself and I'm not the guy hogging the left lane doing the posted limit either! I understand a 3.6 or a manual tranny or a boost, but I think I got most of that out of my system over the years. For thrills and chills we have my Miata that I can drive at 9/10th all the time and not even raise an eyebrow.

Maybe knocking on 70's door changes ones perspective?

NOS :eek::gasp::gasp:
Lol

You could spend a bunch of money putting go-fast parts in it (cams, headers, injectors, MAF, etc) or just live with it.
And power adders will likely hasten the self-destruction of the CVT anyway.....
...You purchased a 3600+ lbs, 4 cylinder 170ish horsepower wagon with a CVT.

Why would you expect power?

Get a H6 or an older Subaru with a turbo. Or be prepared to do a total build, retune, rewire, etc that costs more than the former option if you cannot stand to drive the vehicle.

This coming from someone who drove a 3500+ lbs, 4 cylinder 165 HP 4 speed auto wagon around Chicago for 8 years. Got rear ended a few times, but all those folks were on cellphones and didn't have as good of tires or brakes as me.
