Thanks! I'll look into that. I already called around asking about Optima and Odyssey batteries and everyone said there isn't anything compatible. Their websites also say there isn't a model availalbe. I'm wondering if the 2019 is just too new...
It has the same size battery as every other Gen 5. Group 25.

My mileage must be different from yours, 2wheel. :)

Brass is an excellent conductor of electricity. So is galvanized steel. No fires yet (or even noticeable heating - I checked). And I keep an eye on post corrosion.

AvidHiker's "more interfaces" comment is well taken, though, and I did consider that.

I do think I'll look into an "official" post shim, though.

Here's the waterfall in Tennessee I was thinking of. 256 feet! Kayak that, buddy!! They do look similar, at least at a glance, but the pool at the bottom is pretty shallow so going over it in any type of watercraft might not be advisable.

I think the battery posts are typically lead, and the clamps (sometimes called "terminals", yuck) at the end of the cables are made of brass. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Both are malleable and resist rusting.
