would it be sound to pop a fuse in to disable the AWD and have the ignition on for a 9 mile tow...fella has a good rate, but doesn't own a flatbed...thoughts???

The fuse allows the active AWD system to go into fwd limp mode. Active as in engine running. If the engine isn't running, the fuse location doesn't matter.

Get a flatbed or use dollies.
