We recently bought a 2003 subaru outback and just yesterday the signal lights came on when car was off and will not turn off. they are not flashing they are continuously on. We have to disconnect the battery so as not to drain it. The switch on the steering column is not on so it's not that. Any ideas?

The switch on the steering column is the parking lights. The Hazard switch is in the middle of the console, Red Diamond. The switch might have gotten activated accidentally. If the lights are on, then the parking light switch has to be on. If you are sure it is parked, then there may be an issue with the park light switch itself or the ignition switch is keeping current through the system and your headlight switch is set to amber lighting.

You can unplug the switch on the top of the column and see if the lights go out. Then we can go from there.
