Probably a subwoofer.

The heated seat elements are just under the upholstery, between that and the foam cushion. The seats are indiscernible from the non-heated versions aside from the switches in the console and the extra connector under each seat.

Well whattya know... it is a sub. I didn't know the car had one.

Ok, was just looking for some weight to rip out. And I don't like heated seats, not to mention they're near worthless anyway. AAAAND I hit the switch on accident often. I just disconnected the switches today.

If that's the subwoofer, then what's the oddball speaker on the rear deck on my Macintosh system?
A subwoofer. The Mc system uses a rear mounted oblong subwoofer. All the other models had powered subwoofers under the passenger seat or none at all. Depended on the stereo system in the car.

That hole now holds an 8" Kicker in my car. That Mc is outa there. POS.
